Paisley Print

Paisley Print

Paisley Print is a very Old School/Nostalgic Pattern that symbolizes many values in historic fashion. The attractive tear drop or almond form is of Persian origin. This ornamental textile pattern has various play modes and repeats popularity in fashion and style throughout several decades of time!

Here is some history behind it; Oscar Wilde, a late 1800's Irish Poet and Playwright loved lounging lavishly in a silk paisley smocking jacket and cravat. Additionally, in the US West following Peace & Love era of the 1960's and 1970's, Paisley Print popped off with Hippie Inspired Fashionista Vibes, being placed on wallpaper and even furniture! Controversially, the pattern is abundantly created on bandanas allegedly representing a thug era - gangs - where the paisley print is incorporated in the do-rag element of swag strictly associated with a certain color for each gang. Don't misunderstand the idea around why we are referencing gangs, as it can be defined as organized crime or the lighter meaning stems at "an organization of people doing manual work." BIBS Fashion Passion brings together all the Eras of Value in paisley print meanings and in Essence, the power of Paisley Print is Immortal!

Moving forward with Paisley Print Intimates, we will incorporate paisley print into our brand and as its own catalog representing multiple patterns, groups, and designs with a plethora of colors throughout time! Stay tuned to BIBS Blogs to read more about Paisley Print if it sparks your interest!
